We continue to work on getting all the requirements for a limited service opening. It looks like we may be ready by June 15th, fingers crossed. Be aware that several things will be changing due to the phases of opening outlines. Depending upon several factors you will be asked to 1) observe social distancing, 2) using sanitizer or hand washing prior to entry, 3) limited borrowing due to issues with required quarantining of all library books and movies, 4) limited numbers allowed in the building at one time, 5) limited access to computers unless it is for work, the 2020 census, job searches, 6) wear a mask for protection of self and others in the building.
We may not have all interlibrary borrowing back in place. The services are planning to restore operations, but like us, they have requirements to meet also. What that means for you is borrowing will be initially from our own library, ability to place holds will be for our items, and possibly from other libraries as they open for limited service.
We realize that you all have been incredibly patient during this time. With many local youth activities cancelled or postponed the children are waiting to come use the computers to play games. As long as the social distancing order is in effect we cannot allow children to come and remain in the library all day. That is the procedure for most of the area libraries at this time. Currently, the recommendation is 30 minutes to use the library for checking out books and movies, sending a FAX, and making copies. Computer use will be by appointment or as available basis.
We encourage you to call us Monday-Friday, Noon to 5:00 p.m., to arrange for returns or checking out of books and movies. We are doing curbside service during these hours. We will be more than happy to send a FAX for you or make copies. That price is still 25 cents per page as always. If you need to make a job search, print out a lease agreement, file taxes just call and we will help you make that happen.
Matt and I really miss all of you. We look forward to seeing you here and helping you with whatever your needs might be. Until next time………
