Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Cherryvale Public Library is a volunteer organization with membership open to anyone. The group meets on the first Thursday of every other month to schedule events and plan programs to support the library.

In January, the Friends begin work for their Annual Valentine’s Day Cookie Fundraiser where they bake, decorate and sell over 2,000 cookies. That money is used to support the library with items like new computers, books and movies. The Friends also give a continuing education scholarship to the winner of a high school essay contest and organize and sponsor the Halloween Book-n-Treat where every child in the community receives a free book. Other events and activities include Game Night with Friends at the library and the Dessert Contest and Sampler.

In 2015, the Friends of the Cherryvale Public Library kicked off a new program, Book Buddies, a new library delivery service. Cherryvale residents who are homebound for any reason, whether temporary or permanent, can use their library account for pickup and delivery of library books twice each month.
Membership in Friends is available by stopping in at the library or coming to any meeting during the year.
