It seems like forever since we last chatted. So many interesting things have happened at your library. With wonderful support we have added a very large wooden castle to the children’s area. The kids love it and spend lots of time playing on or under the castle. It was a wonderful gift to the library and our community. Stop in and check it out next time you are in the area.
We recently received a grant and built a 10ft x 38ft patio on the east side of our building. It is wonderful to sit on the solar charging benches and just let the breeze surround you. The patio has unlimited free WiFi 24 hours a day. There’s also the original table with bench seats available for resting, eating, or just visiting. We were so happy to have the high school welding students design, weld, install, and paint our safety railing. The entire patio is handicapped accessible and sturdy for support.
The most exciting happening is the City of Cherryvale received a grant and the library will soon have a new roof! No more blue tarps hanging over our book shelves. We are excited beyond words. We will have a few days when access will be limited, for safety of our community friends, but just give us a call and staff will gladly bring to your vehicle or deliver any books or videos you desire. Remember we have online services available, so stop in and check it out.
Since the COVID shut-down, our world has been upside down. We want to return to those days of visits at the big table upstairs, playing games with the kids inside and outside after school. Staff has worked hard to continue even basic services during these trying times. Let us help you with your library needs, or whatever life needs you have. We have folks using the computers for job searching, resume writing, completing form for services and just keeping in touch with those who are friends across the country.
A library is a magical place where you are free to dream, explore, challenge yourself or just sit and watch a movie with your friends. Our TV is always busy playing movies or just listening to music. We are your home away from home. We bring services such as the American Red Cross Donation days, hosting Girl Scouts, gardening club, and so much more.
I want you to know that we all struggled through these past few years. Businesses have been lost, we have lost family and friends, but we push forward in faith of brighter days. I have to say that our own webmaster lost his love and it has been a very long road back. We depend upon his skills. Out of courtesy we have not ask for help. So we ask your patience as we begin the task of getting this site back in the grove. Once we are able to access the calendar all of our events and pop-up programs will be listed for your information.
Life isn’t easy, but we dearly love seeing you all in person or here. See you soon! Until then we will meet between the pages!
