What a beautiful sight. Soft gentle flakes of snow and the reminder that we are in the middle of winter. Ok, now for the reality, go to the store now and get your milk, bread, cookies, soda, and meat before we become snowbound. Also, don’t forget to stop by your library and check out a good book to read or a couple of movies for the weekend. As with all things in Kansas, the weather will change soon.
If you haven’t checked out the hoopla service this might be a good day to sign up. There are movies, TV programs, all kinds of books in digital format. We would love to see you in the library, but sometimes a trip just isn’t possible. We do have our Friends of the Library delivery service that you may use when the weather is bad and you are not able to get out and about safely. Staff would be happy to assist you in getting registered for this free service.
Last thing, remember to order your Valentine’s Day cookies from our Friends of the Library. Last day to order is Thursday, January 31st. You may call the library and reserve your cookies for pick-up or delivery on February 13th. Each dozen is still $8.00 and we are happy to say the butter cream frosting is back! Yea!! Cookies may be paid for at the time of pick-up or delivery. As a reminder, the proceeds from last years sale purchased the new book repair machine for the library.
As always, we wish everyone to be warm and safe during these bitter cold days. Please remember we have our winter storm hours of Noon to 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday, unless conditions become unsafe for travel. All books due will be renewed automatically. Please do not drop DVDs in the book drop. They will break or be damaged due to the extreme cold. Stay warm and we will be back to visit again soon!
